Kendra Knight is one of those people that you immediately feel comfortable with. Within minutes of talking to her, you know you're really going to like her. She's beautiful, with short, spiky red hair, perfect body and a terrific smile.
She proves that you can be a great person and still be a strict disciplinarian as a dominatrix.
We talked for hours, and she told me all about her life and experiences as a professional dominatrix.
"I wasn't into SM, I answered an ad for The Shadows, this was about nine years ago. I felt really privileged and was trained by some great dominatrices, Marisha, Morgana, and Katya. I think all good tops should start out as submissives. I was a professional submissive. I went from sub to switch to dom.
"You get the experience of knowing how things feel, which is huge, I think about that stuff now. When I get something new, like a cage, I know I need to get inside it, to see what that feels like. I feel extremely privileged to have started out at The Shadows. It had a great reputation and it was a high-class joint.
"I've learned a level of professionalism that I couldn't have learned anywhere else. I think it's sad that someone will want to try something and go to a stripper with a whip and possibly have a bad experience and never want to try that again. But in these bad economic times more people are getting into the business. I hate to see women getting into sex work out of economics. It's damaging.
"I think it's a blessing that I got into this business. As soon as I went to The Shadows, I knew I was supposed to be there. It was amazing for me to be around a group of women who were strong, talented, intelligent, and in their power. I worked at The Shadows for years before going independent. I worked wherever I could, at The Gates, the Castlebar, then I worked with Simone in the Oakland Hills. Luckily, Simone keeps opening places up.
"Working in this business has made me a stronger person. It's been a very intense blessing. It's made me grow as a human being, and made me look at parts of myself I probably wouldn't have otherwise. Being a sex worker has given me a deeper sense of my sexuality and my power.
"Being a dom, you have to get into someone's head really quickly, find out their fantasies and give them what they want in a short amount of time. It's all about energy. If the connection isn't made you're going to feel it and you can't fake it. A client has to be able to open up, to show him or herself to me and trust me. That's a real privilege to have access to someone's psyche and body.
"I'm good at the mind fuck. To me the psychological aspect is so huge. I like all parts of being a dom, but I like doing role-playing a lot. Anyone can tie someone up, but to get in and fuck around with someone's mind
"My sessions are very charged erotically. I'm not afraid to get nasty. I'm a very erotic person and I'm not afraid of that. I'm getting into a really high level of power exchange. Again, it depends what the client brings into it.
"I'm a true pervert. This bleeds into all aspects of my life. I am a lifestyle player. I do have a submissive on call at all times. I'm not doing this for money. I feel totally privileged to be doing this. I feel like it's a gift of god that I get to do this. It makes me more centered. I feel like I'm a therapist. I help people; that's what I do."
Kendra also plays in the fetish, glam, punk band the Apocalipsticks. You can see more about Kendra at her website or contact her through her ad in the Domination/BDSM section of Eros Guide. |
