 The folks who bring you the Burning Man decompression parties and half a dozen other exotic erotic events annually also throw an enormous and notorious bash to ring in the New Year. This year is no exception, but it just might be their biggest one yet as they continue to embrace the arts and flirt with the unknown.  Sea of Dreams '04 emerges from the Anon priorities of originality, freedom and imagination. This all-night event is dubbed by the Salon group as a "mythic journey." They'll be recreating four legendary SF ballrooms, styling them into the shape of their "collective dreams—dreams that promise to spill forth like a sea of stories in artful waves of beauty, talent and artful invention."There is so much entertainment scheduled you won't know where to turn first. Three stages of live bands will feature Sound Tribe Sector Nine, Lost at Last, The Mutaytor, Foxgluv and others. DJ's Freq Nasty, Lorin, Shakatura, Adam Ohana, Laird and more will be spinning eclectic grooves in all four ballrooms. Anon Salon, however, has always been about much more than music. The sonic atmosphere is indeed an important aspect of their backdrop, but additional performance troops (this year it's the Yard Dogs Road Show, SF's finest belly dancers, Liminal / Ghostown, Xeno and the Beyond the Catwalk Fashion Show) will be adding delectable energy to every corner of the party. Visuals from Chaos Consortium will make you feel like you're deep in the blue sea, and inventive installations from Starboy and Karmabunny will round out the space. Of course, in classic Anon Salon fashion, hundreds of sexy, beautiful, scantily clad costumed people will be dancing, laughing and celebrating the possibilities of the future.
