When it comes to "sexual dysfunction," there seems to be a drug, pill, herb or cream for just about every penis-related situation. Millions upon millions of spam e-mails are sent all around the world in search of a buyer for "a penis lengthening this" or "a viagra-like that." The penis is a million dollar industry which is mostly a hoax designed to make men think they are inadequate somehow and should spend money on snake-oil cures.

Finally, Enhance Biotech has announced that their new pill in the works is for an actual sexual problem: premature ejaculation. According to Chris Every, the CEO of Enhance Biotech, approximately 29 percent of the male population is affected by premature ejaculation at some point in their lives.

"People do not like the interference factor of creams and devices and are moving toward being able to take a pill," says Every.

The pill, currently known as "compound LI 301," is a mint-flavored tablet that begins to work within two hours and can be taken on an as-needed basis. Thus far, studies on 30 participants ranging from their mid-20's to mid-50's indicate that the new drug "revealed a statistically significant positive result."

Prior to taking the drug, the men in the study were found to ejaculate on average after approximately 11 seconds of stimulation. These men, all in stable relationships, were asked to keep diaries and, after having intercourse at least three times a week, record ejaculation times with a stopwatch. After taking the tablet, the study subjects found that they could delay their ejaculation by one and a half to two minutes or more. There are also no known side-effects. Larger studies are being prepared.

How does compound LI 301 work? It's a two-one punch with the power of two drugs, a serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and a micro-opioid. SSRIs are antidepressants which commonly also have the nifty side-effect of ejaculation delay. Meanwhile, the micro-opiod dulls sensation a bit with an analgesic effect. Enhance Biotech says that the right dose will not affect orgasm or normal sexual function.

Sadly, this little beauty won't be on the market for at least another three or four years yet. In the meantime, you can use sensation-numbing creams, pause just prior to ejaculation and visualize Bea Arthur in the buff. If that turns you on, you'll need more than this pill.
