Mistress Cyan thought she had found her niche in the lifestyle as a submissive until one fateful day when she was preparing to attend a private play party. "After four years of being submissive, my master suggested that we 'switch' for the evening, stating that he had 'bottomed' before and missed the 'sub space.' I reluctantly agreed, afraid that I would not feel comfortable in the dominant role. That night changed the rest of my life." Mistress Cyan conducted her first professional session in 1994 and has been in control ever since. "For me, it is a 24/7 commitment to myself to do what I love," she tells us, and that includes planning her dream, DomCon.  She tells us, "DomCon is a concept that I have been thinking about for a couple years now. I noticed that there was a disparity between those involved in Professional Domination and those in The Lifestyle, and I wanted to do something that would help bridge that gap. I believe DomCon can be that bridge between the two communities and make it more united. There are a number of professionals who are lifestyle, and a number of lifestyle who are professionals. We really are one community with common interests and we need to work together." What will set DomCon apart from all the other Cons? Mistress Cyan says, "What makes this different is that it deals with ALL the aspects of BDSM and not just a specific facet, like bondage or fetish. DomCon LA will be a convention for EVERYONE who has any kind of kinky interest and it will be the first time so many pro dommes from so many areas will be meeting in one place to network and showcase talents. This is going to be a legendary BDSM event." Registration begins Friday afternoon while exhibitors and vendors are scheduled to set up. There is an exclusive Pro Domme Social from 7:00 till 8:00 in the banquet room followed by the official Meet & Greet from 8:00 till midnight, open to all Full Access Attendees and VIP Guests. On Saturday, things get started early. Registration opens at 10:00 with live performances, demonstrations and prize giveaways scheduled throughout the day. Mistress Cyan tells us there will be drawings both days for free prizes, ranging from BDSM toys and equipment to corsets, fetish wear and jewelry. "What makes these drawing different' is that each person will have two free tickets," Mistress Cyan says. "They will be able to submit their tickets into the drawing for whatever particular item that will be given away at that time. This means that nobody will win anything they don't want."  Demonstrations will feature role play, puppy play, Japanese rope bondage, flogging, violet wand and more, with Mistress Cyan herself using dual single tails. There will be seminars on power planning, among other topics, including Mistress Vendela Zane's presentation on how to balance motherhood with being a pro domme. The convention floor closes at 6:00 so that everyone can get ready for the DomCon LA Play Party at 8:00. Held in an exclusive split-level facility, there should be plenty of room for everyone to show off their skills. A shuttle bus will be running between the facility and the hotel all evening. Sunday promises more of the same, with another full day of performances, demos and giveaways between 10:00 and 6:00, followed by an after show cocktail party in the banquet room. Exhibitors at DomCon LA include AMF Korsets, Bondage Barrix, BossDVD.Com, Bound N Determined, Dressed To Thrill, The Dominion, Jade's Dungeon, Mink of 9 Tails, Shocking The House, Sonny Black Dungeon Furniture and Xcentricities Corsets and Fashion. Mistress Cyan says the list of who is attending is truly unbelievable. "We have over 180 professional dominants from all over the country confirmed," she tells us, adding "There are even a few mistresses from Japan attending!" Joining Mistress Cyan will be Mistresses of Ceremonies Mistress Vendela Zane of Baltimore and Seattle's Mistress Porsche. Special Guests of Honor include Mistress Isabella Sinclaire, Miss Julie Simone, Mistress Porsche Lynn, Miss Stacy Burke, Miss Eve Ellis and Mistress Jade Steel. And the Guests of Honor are Mistress Sabrina Belladonna, Mistress Omega and Jeanne "Hollywood" Bascone.  An impressive list of over 100 professional dominants, switches and submissives and an equally impressive array of over 50 bondage and fetish models means there will be an embarrassment of eye candy riches for all attending fans. In addition to all that fetish talent, Cousin Stevie and Flower from the Showtime TV show "Family Business" will be on hand to sign autographs. And since the event is happening in LA, the porn capital of the world, we're sure there will be a few adult entertainers in attendance as well.With clients and submissives eager to offer themselves to these legendary Mistresses, mobs of fetish photographers will be on hand to capture every swish of a flogger. BDSM organizations such as Threshold will host booths. Dominate Radio will be broadcasting all day Saturday and Sunday and the event will be covered by a number of publications, from the usual suspects like DDI, Bizarre and Taboo to the mainstream media. Even Playboy TV has expressed an interest. Mistress Cyan tells us that there is already another DomCon in the works. The dates and location will be announced at DomCon LA. "People have only seen the tip of the iceberg," she says. "This is a plan that became a reality after years of work and organization. It will be much more than just one event. You are going to be hearing about DomCon for a long time!"
