Teagan Presley: Photo spread and interview with one of Digital Playground's hottest starlets. More»

He calls himself Butt Boy and he composes music for perverts. Doug "Butt Boy" Bench is a leather fetishist who found that the music played in dungeons left him flaccid. So, drawing upon his experience composing music for theater, Doug produced music to fuel his BDSM play.

Butt Boy got his start in Houston 10 years ago with his first album, "Feel the Music." It was a pastiche of trance and techno that provided an optimal aural soundtrack for his whipping and flogging. He has since created nine albums as well as his own genre: dungeon music.

How did this former Baptist Seminary student become an out homosexual BDSM sex activist? He attended East Texas State University, received a Bachelor's degree in Music and then began studying for his Masters at a seminary in Fort Worth. Though he had intended to serve his religion, he found it difficult to square his studies with his sexuality. So before making a commitment to the seminary, he took a side trip to explore the gay scene in Dallas. Needless to say, sexuality won out.

Butt Boy is not a DJ, he is a composer, and all his music is original and written specifically for sex and BDSM play. "When I write," Butt Boy says, "I always visualize the action happening with the music. That's why each album has a different feel to it." Performing each BDSM act himself to find the right speed and beat for each specific action, Butt Boy is inspired by flogging, spanking, fisting and other kinky activities. Though the songs are written with a specific sex act or sex scene in mind, you can still use the music to heighten any scene you're into.

Butt Boy calls his creations a mix of orchestral and techno music, usually in a minor key with a sensuous beat. He composes it all on a Musical Instrument Digital Interface system. Though there is the occasional chanting or dirty talk, Butt Boy avoids lyrics, saying "I (and you) don't want my lyrics getting in the way of your dirty talk and/or head trip."

His latest production is Best of Butt Boy, from Thrust Recordings, a compilation album of dungeon music. The album is 72 minutes of Butt Boy's best music chosen from previous albums by Butt Boy and his fans. You will be moved to the height of fetish ecstasy by Riding Centaurs from "Visions," Phallidance from "Phalliphilia," Track 4 from "Conundrum," Drive Shaft from "Phalliphilia," The Draping Of The Hoods from "Cathedral," Dance Of The Whip from "Feel The Music," The Ritual Of The Whip from "Visions" and The Sling from "Pleasure Bound." Each selection has been remastered "to ensure you feel every hit, hump and high."
