Teagan Presley: Photo spread and interview with one of Digital Playground's hottest starlets. More»
7-27-2004

Luc Wylder has been filming his triple-x traveling series Sex Across America for four years now. Here he speaks with us about his latest installment, Aspen.

ErosZine: Tell me about the Sex Across America series. How did you come up with the idea?

Luc Wylder: Sex Across America is a continuing reality-based series starring my beautiful and talented wife, Alexandra Silk, and me. We tour the country with a gang of wild porn stars and visit interesting cities. Alexandra uses her sultry sense of humor to instigate all sorts of sexual mischief.

The series developed as a natural progression from what I had been producing with the Dirty Dancers series. I was touring the United States shooting professional strippers dancing on stage and having sex on camera. I fell in love with this spontaneous and intimate style of shooting on the road. When I approached Adam & Eve with the idea of starting a new Fallen Angel series together, they were excited.

We wanted to create a video series with broad appeal that promoted fun, consensual and safe sex. It had to be different and interesting to watch independent of the erotic content. I wanted the series to have variety in it and to keep things fresh. Each volume was to be flavored by the town it's produced in. The shooting style, the music, the costumes, the architecture, even the action are all influenced by the climate and culture of the particular city we visit.

EZ: I seem to recall reviewing the New Orleans installment ages ago. I loved it! How long has the series been in production?

LW: We started shooting Sex Across America in March, 2000. We produce three or four volumes each year.

EZ: What cities have you traveled to?

LW: First stop was Las Vegas. Then New Orleans, San Francisco, New York, Miami, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Seattle, Puerto Rico and Aspen. Next we visit Sturgis, South Dakota.

EZ: Any favorites?

LW: New York. It's the city I grew up in. We visited New York before 9-11. Security guards recognized us at the Empire State building. They gave us VIP treatment and a private elevator to the top. Of course the girls returned the favor on the way down. We would never be able to shoot this type of show in New York today, with all the Homeland Security restrictions in place. I'll always love New York, it's the greatest city on earth!

EZ: Any horror stories?

LW: Not really. People in America are actually quite helpful to us. We've had people open up their homes, businesses and backyards to our gang. We also keep a low profile when we visit a city. It's not like we are having sex in the town square. We want to be welcome visitors in each place we visit and leave with minimal impact. In other words, we don't piss off the townsfolk.

EZ: Does one region of the US have better sex than the others?

LW: Not really. Girls in the south are really cute with their tan lines and all, but the girls up north try harder to heat things up. I think "The Beach Boys" said it best: "I wish they all could be California Girls…"

EZ: Did you find one region simply more fun or exciting than the rest?

LW: Fun is so subjective. I'd say it's the diversity of this country that makes it so exciting. So, no, no place actually stands out as being the best. I like to take in the entire country as one big experience.

EZ: From the one I saw, it seemed that you "recruited" local talent? Is that the case?

LW: Yes, on occasion we do use local talent. I think it must be Alexandra's charisma that initially attracts people to our group, or maybe it's her perfect heart-shaped ass. It's usually a local couple that she'll meet. One of them will recognize us and, before you know it, they're performing together. Of course, they must be over 18 and have all sorts of ID to prove it. We love getting locals to hang out, be naughty and be extras in our sex scenes. Their reactions are priceless.

This is not a situation where the girls are having unsafe sex with local sex partners. Talent are required to have a current negative HIV test unless they're a married couple working only with each other. The girls are horny, passionate and creative enough to avoid any unsafe activity. You would be amazed at how crazy sex can get without it involving risky behavior.

EZ: Do you cast for locals? How do you find people?

LW: Much of what you see in Sex Across America is spontaneous. We stay open to the moment and take advantage of all opportunities before us. So, if a hot girl or willing guy wants to get involved, we welcome the company.

There is also a section on my website titled "Work for Me." This has been helpful in meeting people. If you contact me and we're coming to your city, then we usually have a spot for you to make an appearance. Sex is not required.

EZ: Any new stars emerge?

LW: Let's see, we shot Gauge, the Metro contact star, in SAA#1; Jessica Drake, the Sin City contract star, in SAA#2; Aurora Snow in SAA#3; and Aria (Marie Silva at that time) in SAA#4. I'm extremely proud of all the girls in this series. They've all been hot, sexy and very hard workers.

EZ: You also were "entertained" by what appeared to be locals. Do you have friends in every city?

LW: I do know a lot of people all across the USA. I began performing around 1988. I toured the country shooting the Dirty Dancers. I've been on the internet since 1994 and I remain open to meeting new people. The people we meet while shooting this series are a big part of the payoff for Alexandra and I.

EZ: Are there different legal hurdles in each city? It seems like California and New York would be easy enough, but Texas or anywhere else in the Midwest might be difficult.

LW: There are states I'd prefer to avoid, but the message is clear: sex is pretty much the same all over the country. We all want to enjoy ourselves and satisfy our partner. Sure, the circumstances may be different in each city, but the common denominator is always the same. It is love. That's the common bond that unites us as a country. Now if I could only convince the judges in Utah of this. Guess I have a lot of work ahead of me…

EZ: So with this latest installment, in Aspen, you have sex in the snow and in hot tubs. Was that a refreshing change from all that sex in the sunshine?

LW: Absolutely. There is so much sex shot in sunny California that I wonder if viewers believe it never rains when people have sex. I love variety and challenges. Aspen was both. There were issues dealing with temperature variations, high altitudes, snow white-outs and humidity that impacted this production. We actually shot a BJ in a hot air balloon. Try pulling that one off! I must admit that, despite the conditions, one wet chilly erect nipple in a hot tub made it all worth while.

EZ: Give me some behind-the-scenes details about filming.

LW: Alexandra was naked on a fishing boat during the Hawaii project. She caught a 158-pound blue marlin. We met a champion trolley bell ringer in San Francisco. We met a cigar shop owner in New Orleans who was hysterical. We had an orgy at a pool hall in Seattle. The list of crazy situations goes on and on. You have to watch the series; it's all fun, all sexy and all real.

EZ: Any other comments?

LW: Yes, I'd like to thank all the talent, the crew and the people at Adam & Eve. It takes a tremendous amount of coordinated effort to create a successful series like Sex Across America " I'd like to thank the audience for their love and support of the show. It's the wonderful people of America that make this series possible. Keep watching, we may be in your town next!
