Teagan Presley: Photo spread and interview with one of Digital Playground's hottest starlets. More»

The Suicide Girls aren't your average fluffy porn stars. These dark, smart, edgy and alternative pin-ups with attitude have revolutionized porn by empowering its subjects, and a www phenomenon has been born. The Girls, from all over the world, launched a monthly magazine in May and just released a "coffee table" book in June. Even Playboy caught the buzz, creating a Suicide Girl of the Week feature on their website. Now the dark and sultry ladies have taken it on the road with their cross-country burlesque tour.

My girlfriend had been looking forward to the show for a while, and we even considered buying tickets for both of their nights in SF. We were ready to see the Girls in action! We caught the vibe of anticipation and excitement outside The Great American Music Hall when we arrived. Everyone was scanning everyone else, trying to match faces with the pixels that represent the Suicide Girls in their profile photos. There was a small contingency of obviously non-site-members: they looked to me like older white heterosexual couples from Las Vegas.

When we entered the theater at 8:30pm, we were disappointed to see that the stage was set for bands to play. Bring out the girls! The first music group was so unbearable that I've tried to block out the memory. The second band, The Fitts, seemed like a younger version of the Rolling Stones, and had at least some musical composition in their tunes.

Finally, at almost 11pm, the burlesque show started. There was, of course, the trademark Suicide Girls alternative spin on the night. The women were all very non-traditional looking, and covered in tattoos and piercings. The opening act was a great, sexy kick off, but the second act turned me to mush (in a good way!). The lovely Pearl hula hooped nonchalantly, stripping while spinning a giant hoop seductively around her body. That's a highlight for me!

The grand finale was an all-out orgy of chocolate sauce and whipped cream. All six performers entered the stage armed and deliciously dangerous. They doused each other (and the front row of the audience) in the sundae fixings. It was a little naughty and hot, but I couldn't help feeling it was a little stupid too. They won me over, however, when I started smelling the chocolate smeared on bare bodies from my seat in the balcony.

The music selections were perfect, and the costumes were titillating, including garters, stockings, and little taped X's over their nipples. There was even some drag! Pearl, dressed as a delivery man, was seduced and stripped by a sexy vixen in her home. There were also some scenes with bondage and knife play, as well as a very moving dark gothic piece that was disturbingly erotic, brought to us by Nixon. I wasn't too into the hot girls play-fighting for our entertainment, but that just means they had a little something for everyone!

This was the official finale of the Suicide Girls seven month tour of the US, and I can't wait for their next one.
