The folks with Lifestyles Tours invite you to join them for their annual fall houseboat trip. "People always ask us what the houseboat weekends are like and we always give the same answer: You don't have to swing to enjoy yourself, but you can't be offended by it."

Of course, we can't imagine why you wouldn't want to take part� especially once you've been warned that "You might see anything, anytime, anywhere." The event is clothing optional, which means that you needn't go nude. But again, what would be the point? This is your chance to go out onto the desert lake and get naked! "Many people enjoy the freedom and remain textile free the entire weekend, but there are also many who wear a bathing suit or light cover-up."

Your weekend houseboat adventure will begin with a night in Las Vegas, where most couples choose to stay in one hotel. A get-acquainted meeting Thursday night will give you an opportunity to meet some of your fellow weekenders. Early Friday morning it's time to hit the road.

A dozen houseboats are reserved, and each accommodates five couples, with one couple serving as "captains." Arrangements, made in advance by the captains, include possible boat themes, meal options and cocktail hour ideas. Some people even bring ski boats. Upon arrival, you'll find your own houseboat and power out onto the lake. Adventurous advance scouts will secure a discrete cove as one by one the houseboats arrive and weigh anchor.

Get ready for all sorts of fun in the sun: swimming, sunning and socializing. Newcomers will soon discover that you are not confined to your own houseboat, but are encouraged to move about and meet new people.

At night you can opt to sleep on-deck under the stars or in your cabins. For meals, there are a few potluck "progressive dinners:" salads on one boat, main dishes on another and desserts on a third. And when it's time to party, boat-hopping is the order of the night. And, given the cast of characters you'll be partying with, you can be sure there will be plenty of on-board action.
