From August 31st to September 4th, strippers and strip club owners alike descended on their Mecca for the annual expo and fair. On the agenda for the owners were seminars about the business, while the dancers prepared for shows and appearances for their scores of devoted fans.
One of the most interesting events was the seminar for the owners. Day one's topics included a panel on the upcoming election and how such issues are likely to affect owners and dancers alike. The first session was entitled "The Big Cases, The Big Decisions." One of the most vocal presenters in this seminar was California attorney Roger Jon Diamond. Mr. Diamond spoke frankly to the club owners on First Amendment litigation. Another seminar was "Inside Advice from Outside the Box II," a forum of information for club owners on innovative advertising, how to make your club look like an upscale adult nightclub, and promotional ideas for marketing clubs in regional areas. The day ended with a tour around the tradeshow and then that night, we were off to the Spearmint Rhino for the opening night party for club owners. For those who have never been to this Las Vegas club, it is an enormous building sectioned off inside by strategically placed walls and walkways, giving it a very intimate feel. Several rooms host both large and small stages, and dancers rotate through each stage so that the entire club is able to partake in the beauty of these incredible women. The highlight of the evening was a special guest performance by adult film starlets Devinn Lane and Sydnee Steele.
The two battled for power, good over evil, in this sexy display of the eternal war. Devinn was tied up and lead around the stage on her hands and knees, and then Sydnee was bound as hot wax dribbled down her incredible body. By the time the show ended, both women were topless and the audience was breathless. Nice way to start an Expo! Day two, the lineup of seminars included "Secrets Revealed," during which club owners from around the country spoke on why they have become successful, offering advice and tips on continued growth and prosperity. This seminar was promptly followed by "Call to Arms," a political session, hosted by another panel of lawyers and members of the Association of Club Executives (ACE). They offered more discussion about the First Amendment, the upcoming election, and how these topics affected club owners. So impassioned were previous speakers that they barely left time for the Executive Director of ACE National, Angelina Spencer, to speak. Maybe just as well, for we were told that she lost her voice over the previous days agenda of identical issues. She did have a moment to say that club owners had registered 100,000 voters at their clubs or through club-sponsored events. (CNN even noted recently that the number of voter registrations has doubled since the last election.) Then Ms. Spencer stepped aside briefly to accommodate the tight schedule of the keynote speaker who had just arrived.
Once the thunderous applause died down, we headed back to the trade show hall for another tour of the booths and - of course - more glimpses of the mega-stars promoting themselves and their agencies. The hall also housed an enormous stage where dancers from around the country strutted their stuff for the audience. One memorable performance included the Porcelain Twinz. A special surprise appearance was made by members of an elite sect: the big boob group, including Lisa Lipps, Chelsea Charms and friends (see title photo). Tits that big, up close are incredible! There was a powerhouse performance from Miss Nude USA 2004, Lori Alexia, who back flipped her way across the stage and never stopped moving her fantastic, flawless body in a kinetic display of raw passion and topless beauty.
Aspen was 2003's Miss Nude World and Entertainer of the Year, and she is scorching hot on and off the stage. When I saw her at the trade show, my jaw hung open, but seeing her on stage is really not to be missed. In front of a large painted backdrop of a snarling cat, the lights hit Aspen in a Catwoman outfit. There was no way of containing the primal, feral sex exuding from Aspen Reign. She slinked across the floor, and the audience purred. She swiped at the crowd with her claws, and the audience hissed back. She dropped her outfit, and the crowd mee-yowed in appreciation of her sizzling body. Even my waitress was distracted; "God, she's hot," she blurted out. I couldn't have agreed more.
Thursday night was the 6th Annual Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards Show, hosted by comedian Rich Vos. Vivid girl Mercedes was awarded Exotic Dancer's Adult Performer of the Year. In the past, Mercedes won 2002's Entertainer of the Year. For a complete rundown of who won what, visit ED Online. Thus ended the Gentleman's Club Expo. Bang. Friday, the Fan Fair portion opened up with the first event - The Bikini Contest, sponsored by Pure Gold. Imagine 100+ girls in tiny strips of dental floss with bodies glistening in oil and you might have a slight idea of what this event was like. The contest was hosted by last year's winner, adult film star Inari Vachs, and three-time contest winner Exotica, dazzling my eyes with so much feminine feasting. At stake was over $20,000 in prizes, and these women strutted their best stuff to catch the eye of the judges. We'll cover this more in our next issue. Speaking with fans at this event, I was told that this fair is a repeat visit for many attendees. They love to see their favorite dancers and get a chance to actually meet them in person. I saw this in action during a break in the judging as all the girls went into a roped area. They made themselves available to photographers and fans alike for personal photos, autographs, a smile and even a hug for a few lucky fellows. The men were all heated up, and they lavished these ladies with a lot of attention! I found my evening fun at the Girls of ED.com Showcase. After a week of parties and naked women, it was time to leave Vegas and come back to reality, but I've got to mention - after seeing that many naked breasts, you really do start to wonder what everyone else looks like under those cute little summer shirts!
