With strip-trips to Paris, Venice and The Sahara already available for lazy American tourists in Veags, those tripping the strip can now visit a gay club without even hailing a taxi. Of course, it remains to be seen if Joe and Joan Midwest will be interested in sampling gay nightlife as they wander through Aladdin's Desert Passage mall, where the club is located. But anyone familiar with, um, dancing knows that where the gay nightlife aficionados flock, fun - and the khaki-clad masses - will surely follow.
Krave is the brainchild of Sia Amiri, nightclub impresario and former owner of Rage, West Hollywood's legendary gay bar, as well as Crustacean Restaurant and Chez Moi, both in Beverly Hills, and the Prana/Crustacean restaurant and nightclub in Las Vegas. The LGBT community has been enjoying Las Vegas for years, spending up to $54 billion annually. It's high time they had a place to call home on the blinking, blinding boulevard of bling.
Amiri has hired event producer Jeffrey Sanker to book the entertainment. Sanker has produced some of the biggest gay balls, circuit parties and events in America, such as the infamous White Party and Gay Life Expo LA.
Though mainstream sources are using euphemisms for the club's demographics like "omni-sexual" or for those interested in "alternative lifestyles," gay news outlets are definitely saying GAY. And like any self-respecting gay nightclub, you can bet Krave will feature electric nightlife. "It's a place to give in to your innermost desires, with music from the world's most sought-after DJ's, astonishing state-of-the art lighting and sound, tantalizing restaurant and bar areas, and electrifying live entertainment -- all ignited inside a captivating, intriguing and sensual interior," Amiri says.
Monday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, you can witness Fashionistas, an erotically-charged dance review based on producer John Stagliano's award-winning adult film. At 10pm following the shows, Krave opens its doors to the public. Late night Saturdays at Krave you'll find "Everything You Desire," with world-class DJs spinning dance tracks. Keep an eye on this venue for upcoming nightlife excitement!
In addition to Krave's "alternative nightlife experience," the 450-seat nightclub will feature breakfast and dinner options in the form of E.A.T.: "Enjoy Appetizing Tastes," featuring "new" American cuisine.
