Judging by the title, My Sucky Valentine will indeed be "a markedly different celebration of love." This eleventh annual installation is "Sour Grapes and Bitter Chocolates," an evening of "good writers on bad sex and tainted love" and other enticing romantic distractions.  The evening begins at 7 with live performances starting at 8. Thomas Roche will be hosting the spoken word portion of the evening, with readings by local members of the sexeratti Carol Queen, Violet Blue, Charlie Girl, Mistress Morgana, M.I. Blue, Simon Sheppard, Kirk Read, Kateri Tekawitha and Daphne Gottleib. Rose Pistola and her Clitorotti will be twirling their tassles for you for a few burlesque numbers.After all the performances, you're invited to stay and play-and become the live entertainment yourselves-from 10 till 1. DJ Mermaid will be spinning low-key tunes in the upstairs chill lounge while DJ Dee-Dee provides a sensual dark house soundtrack downstairs in the main dungeon. Massage therapists will be "on hand" to ease your tensions and you can soothe other stresses at the "spirited refreshment bar" that "will be actively catering to your needs throughout the night." Sounds spectacular! In addition to the play and performances, you can participate in the evening-long adult-themed, erotic silent auction, featuring donations from retail sponsors Good Vibrations, Mr. and Madame S. Leathers and Stormy Leather. There will be 33 separate packages to bid on, one for every year SFSI has been in business. Additional sponsorship and support is being provided by The Power Exchange, Leather Masters, The Spectator, Bay Area Reporter and The San Francisco Bay Guardian. All proceeds will benefit San Francisco Sex Information, the free information and referral switchboard, staffed by volunteers, that provides "anonymous, accurate, non-judgmental information about sex." A wonderful evening and a worthy cause! The event will take place at the Bay Area's hottest BDSM dungeon and pansexual community playspace, Citadel.
